Seeing The Can-Am Spyder Live, Up Close, In Person

Can-Am Spyder Roadster: Innovative Design and Engineering

Over the weekend, while driving around downtown D.C., I saw this lady who was driving this vehicle. I wasn't sure what it was but it looked vaguely familiar to a futuristic looking bike I saw at the Motorcycle Show that swings through town every year.

At the next red light, we finally got close enough to see the lettering on the side which simply read "Can-Am Spyder". Yeap, that was the one!

Seeing it being driven in person is pretty incredible. It looks like a motorcycle of the future and so cool to drive. It also looks like it handles like a dream by the way she was handling it.

Had to look it up when I got home! Starting price: $15,499 - Yow! ;)

New Book - 'One Helluva Ride: How NASCAR Swept The Nation By Liz Clarke

Today while channel surfing I caught the tale end of an interesting presentation and conversation from Washington Post writer Liz Clarke on C-SPAN's BookNotes.

She has written a book on NASCAR called One Helluva Ride: How NASCAR Swept The Nation.

Some really good points were raised by the author and audience members on what it's like to live in an area such as DC/MD/VA and to be a NASCAR Fan at the same time.

From radio coverage and it's lack of to the only way to tune in being FOX, or paid TV like cable for the SPEED CHANNEL and ESPN, etc.

Here are some interesting links and video:
